By BGN Editor In Hedging and Screening, Hot News, Products On July 13, 2013
Syzygium Big Red is an Australian lillypilly which grows to 4metres high and 2.5metres wide. This plant has beautiful large, glossy leaves and deep red/crimson new growth. White puffy flowers develop from late Spring through to Summer, which are followed by edible berries.
Big Red responds very well to pruning making it an excellent plant for hedging and screening in residential situations. This is a relatively low maintenance plant which grows well in most well-drained soil types. Once established Big Red is a hardy and drought tolerate plant that will look stunning in your garden.
Water well and apply a high Nitrogen fertiliser for best growing results.
